In Bombay we had boxes and jars of spare change. 50p, 1re, 5rs. The maid used to pick up at least a dozen coins everyday from our pockets, from under the couch or inside the washing machine and very safely store them in little plastic bags and boxes, where they will remain probably forever. Since the time we have moved here, we have already collected enough coins to fill a little tin watch box, but now everytime I see it I'm thinking to myself, it's not spare change but at least a couple of thousand rupees in there. We need to remember to use it.
Maybe over time I would forget obsessing over these silly calculations, which serves no practical purpose really.
